Well-Being: Our Philosophy.
Well-Being simply means feeling good about oneself. Being healthy. And striking the right balance between your work and private life. “Well-Being” is a term we use for all the work and resources AstraZeneca invests in to increase the well-being and promote the health of our employees.
The Well-Being process at AstraZeneca takes on many forms, from fair compensation and flexible benefits, to educating and supporting our managers concerning specific Well-Being issues. Each department is in charge of its own process but is also offered special classes or workshops in areas such as stress management, exercise, health, nutrition, quitting smoking and weight loss.
We also offer company health and wellness care, as well as recreational and athletic activities in new, well-equipped premises, many club activities and subsidized vacation residences.
Compensation and Bonus System

- Performance bonus for all employees. Bonuses are paid with stock and cash 50/50.

Vacation
As much as we love our work, we believe it’s healthy to get away. Refresh. Renew. Here’s what you can expect regarding days off:
- Right to 32 days of vacation.
- Salaried employees who do not receive overtime compensation have an additional 5 vacation days.
- Certain established business days between holidays (always the days between Christmas and New Year’s).
- Advance vacation for permanent employees.
- Purchase of extra vacation days.
Health and Leisure
Just ask anyone who includes it in their daily routine: exercise is important for building confidence and finding balance in life. So we make sure that all employees have access to exercise and healthcare facilities at all of AstraZeneca’s locations. We also have a selection of health promotion units to improve health, motivation and job satisfaction.
Recreational Facilities and Clubs
Södertälje
Snäckviken
Discover gyms, a climbing wall, a squash court, weight training, a pool, and more. Inside, you’ll also find a neighborhood library and a reading room, as well as a café for lunch or a snack.
Gärtuna
Gärtunahallen is a full-size sports center where you can play tennis, among numerous other activities. Adjacent to the sports center are two outdoor tennis courts, a lighted ski track and a soccer field.
Mölndal
Oazen is AstraZeneca’s sports center, which is located in the southern part of the complex. Play tennis, badminton, volleyball, indoor bandy, and soccer, lift weights, participate in gym activities, etc. The center also has an outdoor tennis court and a soccer field.
Lund
At the sports center, you can pursue activities such as soccer, indoor bandy, work-out sessions, badminton and more. You’ll also find a weight training room and pool table.
Recreational Clubs
At AstraZeneca, there are approximately 40 recreational associations or clubs catering to a wide variety of different interests. Several of these clubs have their own intranet websites where their activities are presented.
Relocation
AstraZeneca offers relocation support, occupational pensions, and life and medical insurance according to AstraZeneca’s Relocation Policy in connection with international recruiting.
Parental Allowance
At AstraZeneca, there is a generous policy in place regarding parental leave. AstraZeneca fills in the amount that exceeds the Regional Social Insurance Office's ceiling of 7.5 base amounts for up to 80% of salary (90% for temporary parental leave).
